Description:

Panel with the pattern of the Stolen Lord, several figurations in shades of blue, dating from 1747, which illustrate the cartoon episodes of the theft of the Blessed Sacrament, which occurred in the Convent of Odivelas in 1671.

Intervention:

The serious state of degradation of the panel determined that the best option for its conservation was its transfer, this procedure is reserved for limit situations that threaten the total loss of the property in question, since its realization implies the decontextualization that generally values ​​the work.

The intervention included the following steps:

  • facing;
  • Integral lifting of the panel;
  • cleaning;
  • removal of hygroscopic salts;
  • collage of fragments
  • consolidations;
  • packaging
  • installation of a full replica of the panel using traditional techniques and materials.

The original panel was kept in the care of the Municipality of Odivelas and awaits its exhibition in a museum context.
