Project: Conservation and restoration intervention of the Manueline Cloister of the Pena National Palace
Background: Pena´s National Palace
Description: The following elements were intervened: the ceramic coverings of the façades and floor of the Cloister; the Chapel of S. Jerónimo (integrated in the Lower Gallery and characterized by the cladding with decorative technique of embeddings) and the railing of the roof of the Cloister.
The intervention aimed at suspending the current degradation mechanisms; delay future degradation; the correction of structural misalignments; replacing poor quality replicas. aesthetic correction of changes caused by degradation factors.
